Dear Friend and Neighbor,

As we all know, Municipal Elections are being held on May 10, 2022.  Here in Paterson, your decision is crucial. There is a Mayor’s election along with three at-large council elections in May.  I have decided to run for Mayor because I am convinced that the current Mayor is not acting in the best interest of the city and its residents, instead acting in the interests of developers and businesses that are contrary to every day residents.  You may have heard that I am facing legal issues that will interfere in my ability to represent all of the city’s residents.  I assure all of you, in the strongest possible terms, the charges against me will ultimately be dismissed, as the charges are politically motivated by the current Mayor and his allies.  I have been sitting for the past 15 months as 3^rd Ward Councilman and am very proud of what we have been able to accomplish, distractions to the side. 

My campaign and I need your help to bring out our friends and neighbors to continue to spread our message of fiscal responsibility, community leadership, public safety and our commitment to provide the best municipal services for the best possible value.  Mayor Sayegh is more concerned with photo opportunities and getting his face on TV, and his future political ambitions, than he is with improving the lives of regular Patersonians.  Crime is out of control, redevelopment is chasing average people out of their homes, and small businesses are struggling to survive under this administration. I have a plan to include the whole community in Paterson’s rebirth, and to spread the prosperity to all of our residents.  The incumbent will be well funded by out of town interests, and any financial support that you can afford to send to “Alex Mendez for Mayor”, will go a long way toward the victory that we need to put Paterson back on track.  I need your vote and support to spread the word and get the city back to its greatness of years gone by, and I promise, you will not be disappointed.
